"This spirited 1989 live date finds then 57 year-old cornetist Nat Adderley in good form. Altoist Vincent Herring often comes quite close to Cannonball's sound. Pianist Art Resnick, bassist Walter Booker, and drummer Jimmy Cobb round out the quintet, providing effective support. Nat offers witty and informative introductions to most of the songs, and everyone gets a solo opportunity on lengthier tracks like "Autumn Leaves, which approaches 14 minutes. The quintet also performs extended versions of "I'll Remember April", "Soul Eyes", "Stella by Starlight", Sam Jones' "Unit 7", and Nat's compositions "Work Song" and "Talkin' About You, Cannon"."
