"I have never understood why many Nanci listeners consider this her worse. To me it is a masterpiece.
All tracks are marvellous & the production adds to the tone & drama. But if I had to chose one as 'the best' it would be "Just Another Morning Here".
I know little of Nanci's personal life but I suspect this is one of her most autobiographical compositions.Pete"

"Of all Nanci's CD's (and I own them all), this has to be one of the best. It is classic Nanci, with some very pretty, catchy
tunes done only as Nanci could do them. If you are looking for one of Nanci's older CD's because you like her newer ones, this is a buy for you. You won't be disappointed."
Great, as usual.

"Another winner from a great artist. When I first bought this album I didn't like it, but it really grew on me and now I just can't live without it. My favorites are: 'It's too late' - the cadence in this song is so cool, it's almost a rap. 'The Power Lines' is a wonderful ballad, but I still haven't figured out if its a gospel song yet. 'One Blade Shy of a Sharp Edge' is a funny song in a lighthearted vein, and 'The Sun, The Moon and The Stars' is a sweet barroom ballad about lost friends and closing time. All in all this CD is just great. Not her best, but not bad at all."
Who produced this?!

"Nanci is one of my favorites. Her talant is unquestioned but whoever produced this album missed the mark by a huge margin. I think that the reverse gated snare drum is second in the mix only to her voice. It sounds like the producer was trying to go pop country with this album. I hate it. And I really like Nanci. The songs are great but unless you want to hear Nanci play with a bad rock n roll band avoid this one."
Very good

"Simply the song "Late Night Grand Hotel". It's one of the best songs I have ever heard. It's so true and honest and shockingly well observed. Thank you Nanci."
