CD Reviews

Ichiban desu!

"This album exposes the gentler side of Nanase, and the rock-styles are more mature, as compared to previous albums like Red or ParaDOX. Purana has also a few hard-rock songs, which are rather different from the pop-rock style Nanase used to have. To name a few, they are Trick (Track 2), No Future (Track 3), Midnight Blue (Track 9) and THE END (Track 10). I would recommend Sakura Saku (Track 7) though. Just a little note, Nanase has exhibited her talents once again by writing lyrics for 11 out of 10 songs in this album. Two thumbs up!"
Just Great!

"A nice mix of rock ballads and in-your-face Rock 'n Roll. 'Party 2001' has rap but still maintains a rock feeling (Yes, Nana-chan raps). 'Trick', 'No Future' & '7 Seas' are vintage Nanase rock 'n roll (though 7 seas is not as good as the 1st two). 'Adieu' is a sweet ballad. 'Trust Me' just begs for loud play with the car windows rolled down :) (One of my favorites). 'Sakura Saku' & 'Sugar Baby' are two rock ballads. Good ones but not my favorites. 'Midnight Blue' is a great rock tune (another one for the car ;) 'The End' Takes a little getting use to but definitely rocks. 'Anata no Ondo' is another nice ballad. The album finishes with '~ Dandelion ~' A hit single I also love. IMHO, You should buy this one if you like J-rock (or just rock in general - Her style is similar to late 80s to early 90s rock in the US) She is not very similar to other J-Pop artists/Groups like ELT, Ayumi Hamasaki, Globe, Puffy etc. She has a harder edge to her music. Her album 'ID' might be a better selection if you are new to her music. Its a compilation of her 1st three albums plus the song 'Lovin' You' one of her best songs. I own all her CDs and none disappoint. She is very talented.Hope this helped!RPS"
