"I found a promo copy of Proximity Effect in a used record store. I feel like the luckiest man alive. This album is amazing, my favorite. Like people have already said, you can listen to the whole thing over, and over, and never get tired of it! I have no idea why this isn't for sale in the US, I can see it being huge! I hope that my band can pull off what Nada Surf just did. Lastly, buy it!"

"Every now and then I look at my album collection and think, "That's it! I can't imagine ever listening to a new album that is better than what I've got". I was thinking this before I got the proximity effect, it proves how wrong you can be! I always thought Nada Surf were OK, but this album knocked me for six, the songs are amazing, they play with passion AND are subtle. 80 windows and Robot have to be two of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Whilst Nada Surf deal with touchy subjects, they never do so in a tacky or overstated way. Now I have to wonder if I'll ever hear anything that tops this."
Nada Surf is ba-ack!

"I could not understand why this cd was not release in the us...and now that I know it, i realize what a great injustice this is. All the songs are just fabulous. This is one of the best power trios in rock history! Do you think I'm wrong? So listen Proximity Effect!"

"I bought this record, minus the bonus track, a year ago. It is by far the best off-the-cuff purchase that I have ever made, and it is well on its way to becoming my favorite album. Every song here is a winner, and the combination of them is astonishingly beautiful. From the exhilarating opening riffs of "Hyperspace" to the bittersweet music-box ending of "Robot," this album is flawless. The bonus track is excellent, as well. Even as an import, this album is worth every penny of its price; you can't possibly be disappointed."
