An Original Hawaiian Slack Key Album

"This unique Hawaiian album consists of 12 original compositions by well known singer/songwriters Carlos Andrade and Pat Cockett ("Moonlight Lady"). The songs are in both English and Hawaiian, and the album finishes with a stunning vocal by Malake Kanahele, a full blooded Hawaiian from Niihau, who sings an old Niihau hymn, "Ua Mau." Guest artists include Taj Mahal, George Winston and Buffy St. Marie. Na Pali tours extensively with Taj Mahal as "The Hula Blues Band." The songs are all based around slack key guitar tunings, all listed on the CD. Don't miss this special work. It's one of the most interesting and touching albums I've heard in years. A good follow up to the group's 1987 "Pacific Tunings" album."
