"It's a great cd, and I encourage all of you to buy it. I'm surprised, however, that nobody here seems to know that NYOIL used to be Kool Kim of the U.M.C.s (not to be confused with the Ultramagnetic), and he's been around since 91. If you wanna hear some really great stuff, check out their debut, Fruits of Nature."

"Didn't know who NY OIL was. So before getting the album I checked out his podcast expecting another hip-hop artist pimping his album in a podcast, but man I was wrong.
Some serious speech there made me wanna get the album.
So I did, and am not disappointed.
NY OIL touches upon serious issues and offers rich lyrical content instead of banging out battle rap or resorting to catchy butt-shaking beats and such.
The album is not as long as I expected cause there are a lot of interludes, but the interludes fit well in album structure, so I can't complain.
All in all really tight album."
Whoa...NYOIL is that dude

"I generally try not to listen to the same album more than once/day (since there's so much great music out there), but I listened to this one 4 times in a row the other day. NYOIL has a lot to say...and the second disc alone is worth re-purchasing this album (I have the original pressing). Listening closely to the lyrics, you find someone who's struggling with the evils of the music industry and today's society. Brilliant."

"He needs a Grammy and all the industry respect given to these scumbag 'thug' rappers."
We need more visionaries like this young brother right here.

"NY Oil is truly a student of "RAP" and child of "HIP HOP". Not only does he pay homage to the greats before him, he also reiterates the need for lyrics that the mind can soak up. Put the champagne down. Stop lying about your drug sales and murders. If you are a child of the Hip Hop movement and love true lyric domination then listen to this young man because he is saying a whole lot. We need more artist/visionaries like him."
