The cool, spiritual sound of roots reggae

"A very laid back and cool jazzy reggae groove with some ska and rocksteady sounds rolling around in there. The long Narration [2nd track 12 mins] tells the history of Africans in the Caribbean. Brilliant somewhat hypnotic drumming throughout and a fantastic version of 'Oh Carolina' towards the end followed by an excellent version of 'So Long Rastafari'. The last track is a 23 minute Grounation featuring some excellent drumming. This was one of my favourite albums when it first came out in the mid 70's. I am very happy to see it has been reissued on CD. If you like Reggae don't hesitate to buy this album. ;)"

"There are too few good recordings of Grounation services;at least i have not located many. This and Keith Richard's Wingless Angels are both great to sit back and trance out with, either w/ or w/out herb.
True heartbeat music."
