"Unlike so many soundtracks that leave out so much of the music that you found the most memorable, this soundtrack includes everything, even the shortest pieces: a Scottish jig performed in a hospital ward, background singing of "Just Before the Battle, Mother," the authentic recording of "Your King and Your Country Want You." The original music is exquisite and so suitable to the movie--haunting--yet memorable and "catchy" enough to listen to again and again--not just background music that means nothing without the visual effects. The icing on the cake is the inclusion of several poems written by Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen and read by the actors who portray the poets. If you like the movie as much as I do, you must own the soundtrack."
