"I wake up, all groggy, after a late night at the pub. Get in the car, half asleep, and turn on Mr Habib Koite ... and its an instant transformation. Great music, clean sounds, energizing rythms, feel good beats. I do not understand any of the words, but who needs to, early in the morning.



PS: Similar side effects have been noted after a long and tiring day at work."

""Muso Ko," Habib Koité and Bamada's first album, offers a truly unique and exceptional listening experience. Users of some versions of Windows Vista may have heard a number of the songs on this album with the "Sample Music" packages distributed with Vista.



For listeners unfamiliar with Koité, he sings (primarily) in the Bambara language of his native Mali. The use of this language adds a depth and feeling to the overall listening experience that is both difficult to describe and to understand without actually listening to Koité.



Right from the start, with "Fatima," through songs of different tempo, such as the fast-moving "Nanale" and the more harmonically-driven "I Ka Barra," this music offers a tremendous listening experience.



Highly recommended to all music affectionados."

I stumbled on a sample of Habib's music in my Zune marketplace. I was writing at the time, and this music was exactly what I needed to get into my char's brain. Brilliant.



His music is clean, light, and mellow, and his voice is very soothing. I enjoyed it so much I have all three albums on order.
