"Two seasoned vets make musical magic together I think. Leaving aside the title song which if nice sentiment, I think is distinctly less interesting than the others (& AS somewhat forces her voice), the rest is magical I think. The two medleys are very well considered-- the 'Goodbye' one so moving and gorgeous. And the "Come Fly With Me/The Island" one really makes you think differently about the songs-- in a good way. Sanders makes excellent use of the fragile side of her voice in contrast to the stronger 'belt' side too. Florence really shows brilliantly his ability/experience in accompanying vocalists & adds depth and his own well considered sense of exploration. Neither sacrifices the inherent melody (or indeed, harmonies) of the songs though. 'Chamber' jazz, pure piano/voice duo cabaret jazz or whatever you want to call it, it's marvelous stuff."

"What a lovely album by two consumate professionals. Bob Florence's is a pianist of the first magnititude in the Jazz idiom. His arrangement's are sweet, sensitive and technically first rate. Ms. Sanders renditions are very solid musically and almost etherial. I think the album is magical. Thanks Guys !!!!!!!"
An American Classic

"Irene Kral with Alan Broadbent, Tony Bennett with Bill Evans, Mel Torme with George Shearing, and now this additional jewel in the crown of American once-popular music: Annette Sanders, a veteran New York singer and the magnificent arranger-pianist Bob Florence. The album was made in 2006 and produced by the MAMA foundation (backer of many great musical projects). What can one say about such magnificence? The choice of music is superb (note how many of the songs were recorded earlier by Kral), the singer has a lovely voice, and the accompanist is, well, just as good as any one ever was--if not better. Here is an album for the ages."
