Blissfully restful

"This surpassed all my expectations. The musical pieces have been extremly well ordered. Unlike other 'collections', the CD presents no sudden and abrupt changes in tempo of the music. It is totally relaxing and moves the listener slowly through the piano talents of Chopin. Though the pianist's of the pieces are obviously greatly skilled, they would not account for me as the greatest I have heard. Overall however both CD's are great listening for those who prefer music that is gentle in both structure and essence. I highly recommend it, for it can be played both as background music, yet is excellent to simply listen and enjoy."
A wonderful collection of calmer chopin pieces

"A while back I decided to purchase Ashkenazy's Complete Piano Works of Chopin. It is a wonderful collection, and Ashkenazy is one of the masters of Chopin. I thought this ten CD box set would be all of the Chopin I would need.
Some friends recently bought me this two cd set, and it has proven to be an excellent gift. The pieces chosen for this collection are some of Chopin's calmer and more reflective works. Barenboim, Vasary, Juisada, Ugorski, and Luisada are fine pianists, and it is nice to have different interpretations of theses works. A good collection for close attention or casual listening.
Highly recommended."
THE Music Of The Night!

"I bought this CD for many reasons. One small reason was I just totally LOVE the album cover! The ocean at night, with a piano on the beach, and a full moon reflecting on the sea. It's a true work of art! But the main reason I bought this CD was for the beautiful works of Chopin. Just like the album cover says, 2 and a half hours of seductive, bewitching piano music and it's true! This album features Nocturnes, Etudes, Waltzes, Mazurkas, and Preludes.
My absolute favorite piece from Chopin, from this CD, is Nocturne in E Minor Op.72 No. 1. This piece of music is just so hauntingly beautiful and can be interpreted in two different ways, well, at least for me anyway. It can be a very sad and emotional piece if you are alone and long to have someone special in your life. But it can also be a very beautiful, romantic piece for lovers and can be played during the most intimate of moments. It's such a powerful piece, one of very few compositions that can have more than one interpretation.
This is a great CD for lovers and for people who love calm, haunting, romantic piano music. These compositions take me away from all the chaos and stress in the world today and it's sure to do the same for anyone as well."
