"I am a careful consumer. Times are tight and I like to research an item before I purchase it. I read the reviews for this cd and they were mostly positive.
I have several sleep cds and wanted a new one...just for a change.
This one is really not very good.
Most sleep cds lead you into relaxation with breathing and focus on deepening relaxation. Usually soft background w/without subliminal messages play in the background.
The first cd starts right out assuming you are deeply relaxed and asleep within minutes! People that purchase these types of cds struggle with insomnia...sleep is illusive!
I stayed awake for the whole cd..part 1 and 2. And the background is the ocean. Which is distracting not relaxing.
I listenend to the second cd...which concentrates on relaxing your body by focus on each body part. This goes on forever!
Just overall...not a good balance. I would not purchase this again. And I will go back to Diane Bloomingfeld...who leads you into a deep state of relaxation the right way. So much for variation!"

"This is one of the best sleep aid products I've encountered. It gives a straightforward scientific approach and at the same time the instructions are practical and very easy to follow.
The Yoga Nidra technique is very good and I always pass out cold. I find the voice very relaxing and the music supportive and complimentary.
I was having a very difficult time winding down and couldn't fall asleep. I think its all about practice, I feel that my body and mind are actually being re-educated.
Many thanks. I also got the other recordings on Sleep and relaxation by Dr. Shah- I find it helpful to do a different relaxation every night. I think this one is a good for beginners and a place to start from.
