"For anyone interested in the flute, harp or French music of the 20th century, indeed, for anyone interested in accessible, pleasurable music of any kind, this is an essential purchase. Rarely is contemporary music so immediately enjoyable or so continually rewarding as this. The playing of the ensemble is remarkable, especially given the complexity of the music. Noakes and Tingay, however, are stunning in both technical mastery and unsurpassed musicality. One of my favorite discs."

"Just listen to this flute and harp music of Jean-Michel Damase and you'll want to acquire more of his work. Melodic, traditional, French, and just plain lovely. While this 76-year-old composer doesn't have the name recognition of, say, Ravel, Debussy or Satie, he should be heard and appreciated for the quality and accessibility of his work. If you like beautiful music and enjoy the flute and the harp, this is a CD you'll want to own."
