CD Reviews

Took a while to come full circle, but well worth the money

"I am from northeastern ohio and have been following mushroomhead since the superbuick days and well, it is not the same band. A lot of people hate on waylon but I think he does a good job covering the growls and anger that Jason had in the songs, but he does have the ability to belt out some serious melodies. This is one of those records you need to keep in your car, play over and over in your headphones and just hear it as a whole thing. I initially thought it sucked, but I am in love with it now. My least favorite song is "come on" which is the single they chose to release. I really love hardcore mushroomhead, but something about "I'll be here" just makes me love the direction the band is going. The ability to belt out some hard riffs, melody between two singers and then a few songs down the album just tear it apart. I hope their next release comes soon and is a little harder than this. Still a shroomsoldier."

"I had listened to this CD streaming online before purchase and I will not be purchasing this CD. Do a search and listen to it first.

It really comes down to 2 decisions.

A. If you like the sound of Savior Sorrow this CD is right inline with that release and you will like it.

B. If you love the old school sound then you may not like this as much. I personally like the old school sound and could listen to that in heavy rotation.

Musically I loved the dance/metal sound with keyboard being more of a focal point instead of filler. Now is seams guitars are the focal point with keyboard as filler.

In short I am on the path of being an old fan.

Happy listening."
NOT WHAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE

"I'm new to Mushroomhead, this is my first taste, my wife got this for me, because she knows I love this kind of thing. Now, I've seen their discs in the store and was interested in the image, at the time though, I mistakenly wrote them off as a Lordi/Slipnot/Mudvayne/GWAR wannabe, except for the mighty GWAR, I don't like any of the aforementioned bands. Anyway, I accepted the gift with a smile and a thank you, pretending to be excited about it. On the way to work I thought I would at least give it a shot. By the time I had made it in to work I realized I had made a HUGE error scoffing at these guys as I enjoyed every track I heard. I ejected it and popped it in my computer at work, I have been listening to it most of the day, I plan to check out their back catalog, if it's anything like this disc, I'll have found me a new band to follow. SWEET!!!!"
