Flawed performance and recording

"Being well acquainted with these works via the period sextet recording of the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble on BIS, I was seeking out an HIP orchestral performance. Unfortunately, this one falls short. The andante movements are played too slowly, tending to drag, and the invogorating spirit of the former recording is frequently missing. In K.251 the horns are poorly recorded or remastered, giving them a grating quality that makes the piece almost unlistenable. Buyer beware."
