"Here is a record where you get all the pros of a live recording (of course you also get some cons as well - if you do not like stage noises and a laughing audience do not by this record.) The singers seem very inspired by the fact that this is a live recording. They really get into their roles - it is like being in the theater - not just listening to it on the stereo. It may not be world famous singers, but they know their stuff as does Gardiner. Everything on this record blends together to make a perfect whole. Definetely worth knowing."

"I have this Gardiner Cosi Fan Tutte on DVD too, and absolutley love it...the most beautiful Cosi I have yet to find. So I got the CD version. For some reason, though, it isn't the same performance and I also didn't notice that in the CD recording Don Alfonso is played by a different singer. I think he is wobbly and not nearly as good as Claudio Nicolai in the DVD version. But don't let that stray you from getting this CD. It is still excellent!!!"
