Synopsis

Product Description
This is the band that Billy Gibbons rose to local fame with, a band that opened and/or played with such legendary acts as The 13th Floor Elevators, The Doors, Fever Tree, Jimi Hendrix, Doug Sahm, and the Winter brothers, just to name a few. They were a fine combo who could cook with the best of the bands they shared a stage with. . It's pure, homegrown Texas Psychedelic Blues, specifically the genuine South Coast Sound of Galveston, and that muggy Baghdad on the Bayou, Houston Texas.

Billy F Gibbons really hasn t changed his style of playing since The Moving Sidewalks were formed and Flash was originally released but he has certainly evolved and fine tuned his already prodigious skills. Jimi Hendrix, when asked about other guitarists who he respected, mentioned Billy Gibbons whose band Moving Sidewalks had been opening for him on his current tour.

The album 'Flash' is pure 1960's garage psychedelia, complete with sound effects. One song 'Joe Blues' offers some amazing Gibbons blues guitar work (even with background noise) Songs on 'Flash' were written by Gibbons or Gibbons and band members with one song by producer Steve Ames, another by Al Anderson, two by Tom Moore and the last two of four co-written by Gibbons and Steve Ames

What makes this release special is there is an option of CD and vinyl...and a second CD/LP contained rare studio and unreleased tracks by The Moving Sidewalks as well as previously unreleased tracks by The Coachmen, the group that evolved into The Moving Sidewalks.

Their live act helped make them legends (along with their penchant for pyrotechnics), --locals who saw them still rave about their shows to this day "you should have been there".
