Synopsis

Album Description
Swedish five-piece Motorhomes quietly made their debut early 2002 with a support slot on Shed Seven's 'greatest hits' tour. Since then, they have slowly gained momentum, with their well-received debut single 'Its Alright,' a support tour with JJ72, & culminating in an appearance at the 2002 Glastonbury Festival on the New Bands stage. Pedar Claesson, Peter Mogenson, Adam Starck, Daniel Skaar & Mattias Edlund, who make up the Motorhomes, have been described as having 'boy-band good looks' but their music couldn't be further from the sappy dross normally manufactured by those who posses such features. Rather, the Motorhomes specialize in melancholic guitar pop that's heavy on the melodies. It hasn't escaped notice that their debut album 'Songs For Me (& My Baby) seems to be haunted by the ghost of tortured genius, Nick Drake. Epic. 1999.

CD Reviews

One Of The Best Bands You've Never Heard!

"They are the Motorhomes. They are from Sweden Yah! They are like a cross between RADIOHEAD and the TRASHCAN SINATRAS. I saw part of their video on MTV during a top 10 international charts show. I searched for about 3 months to find a copy when I found them I bought 3 copies - they are THAT good.Review: Ok, here's the deal. This CD has 11 songs all of which are a softer tempo and less epic than "OK Computer". The lead (male) vocals sound very much like Thom Yorke of Radiohead. Plus! It's all in English! The best songs on the Album are "It's Alright" and "Into the Night". Tracks are as follows: 1. Heaven Sent, 2. It's Alright, 3. Don't Die Young, 4. For Whom It May Concern, 5. Into The Night, 6. Slow Down, 7. O'er Land, 8. Pictures At Sea, 9. Thirteen, 10. For Tomorrow, 11. Falling From Grace. BE WARNED - this CD does not "rock" like Radiohead - it is a kinder, gentler form of kickass. I have no idea why record companies haven't released this CD in the US. It's really good especially for a first album. Anyway if you hate being deprived of good music, BUY THIS CD!"

"This CD is hard to review i must say. The songs are overall very easy to like, but maybe a bit to easy. If you want to compare to other bands (which often have to do becasue it is so hard to describe music without some kind of reference) it sounds like Oasis or the Verve when they play it soft. The vocals are more emotional and maybe a bit depressed, but in the end very good. Moterhomes are a swedish band, so if you're not from scandianvia you will be for certain alone among your friends owning this album. It won't blove your mind, but you will not be dissapointed with Moterhomes."
