"of course this is an essential buy. I mean with out these guys would there be a Living Sacrifice, Crimson Thorn, Extol, Sympathy, or Disencumbrance? I think not. Scrolls of the Megilloth is my personal fav. from good ol mortification. this is a must have. may not be the heaviest, nor the most technical, but it is important and it is essential."

"Many people dismiss this band because of their belief in God,but they are missing out on some excellent metal.Self titled review-This is known as death metal,but it is really more like brutal thrash with death vocals.The guitar tone is grinding,and similar to Celtic Frost's on their older albums,which is obviously a compliment.It's hard to put this album into words,other than BRUTAL,reminiscent of the harshest Slayer and Celtic Frost.The songwriting is very memorable,and each song has it's own identity.Steve Rowe's vocals take a little getting used to if you aren't accustomed to death metal,but if you are then you will be right at home here.Mortification is one of the few Christian metal releases that is equal,if not better than the secular competition.Scrolls Of The Megilloth review-Mortification takes a straight up death metal sound on here.Scrolls incorporates more blastbeats to the Mortification sound,and pushes the brutality to another level.The guitar riffs are very brutal and melodic at the same time.The tempo also gets changed up quite a bit,which helps things from getting to be too monotonous.Drum wise,Scrolls is incredible,and will make you drop your jaw at the speed of the blastbeats.Several atmospheric interludes also provide a break from the sonic destruction,and give Scrolls a distinct identity.My only problem with this album is the production.The kick drums are way too clicky,which gets annoying very fast.Also,the guitars sound thin on here,which is disappointing to say the least.Otherwise,this is a mandatory album regardless of your religious beliefs.For once a christian band can stand on equal ground with any band,period.Most christian music is subpar to say the least,and cannot even compare to their secular counterparts.Mortification are the exception to the rule,and deserve a lot of respect for making killer music than any metal fan should appreciate.Two great albums for the price of one make this an essential purchase."

"Well I'm not. Anyway Mortification is awesome, and don't go on what Sub said, I mean be a little less of a nazi and buy it for the music. If you like old school deathmetal, then you'll love Scrolls of the Megilloth by Mortification. Buy it today."
