Mortician is a Grind/Death Band and not a Death Metal Band. This album is pretty high quality in the production department. I would say that this is the second highest quality album out of Mortician's back catalog. The vocals are super low, gutteral vocals, that are similar to the first 2 Incantation albums. In order to get the most out of this album, I recommend the first few times you listen to it, to use headphones, turn the player up a little bit louder, and get the lyric sheet out of the cd case and read along. The bass and guitars on this album are super distorted for an eerie brutal sound. On many Mortician albums except the re-recorded album and the live album they use a drum machine to achieve the real fast place drumming. On this album the drum machine is not as over powering as other albums. Most of the lyrics are horror movie related with the usual horror movie sample before most songs. Some of my favorite songs on this album are Bone Crusher, Extincton of Mankind, Domain of Death, Martin (The Vampire), Dr. Gore and Necronoicon Exmortis. On this album there are 17 tracks, 15 which are originally written by Mortician, and 2 cover songs. I would recommend this album for fans of Incantation, Wormrot, Insect Warfare, Early Napalm Death, or any grindcore related groups.

Too Predictable

"Death metal is normally not just noise, as many would dismiss the genre as. People don't know about the talent of many bands like Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Obituary, Hate Eternal, Cryptopsy, etc. But then you have grindcore, which is more noise than music, and is definitely not for the ears. Then you have a band called Mortician, which sadly, is one of the most predictable bands out in the underground death metal scene.

I have listened to a few tracks from this band, and here's the layout:

-A horror movie sample which lasts from about 30 to 60 seconds

-Noise. Simple guitar riffs and a drum machine. No solos whatsoever.

The songs only last from about 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

They have done this on EVERY CD they have made. "Domain of Death" is no exception. This gets boring real quick. Unless you're a real fanatic of the underground death metal scene, I don't recommend this."
For all the gore/horror fanatics, out there.

"Mortician has been making records, for so many years and also touring the country even, overseas, that they got alot of people behind them, from germany, to mexico, and brazil, china, australia, and ofcourse, usa, making alot of fans as well as, exposing people to their incredible music.

Now onto mortician's album title "domain of death" well, its more morbid then their earlier stuff and it even seems much more brutal such tracks as the title track "domain of death" and, "cannibalized" along with the production which has always been the kind of production, i like to hear from a band.

Not at all like your mediocre or modern extreme metal that being the reason mortician, is my favorite band and having the best horror filled lirycs...Ever heard, i say hail to the most brutal and original band to ever be created.

Mortician's "domain of death" is actullie a horror/deathgrind released album that should be in every extreme metal fan's collection, weather its black, grind, death or whatever. Buy it and be proud you did!
