The Giallo is a type of thriller particular to Italy. Maestro Ennio Morricone defined it?s sound and atmosphere and ultimately scored more of the genre?s films than any other composer. "Morricone Giallo" is the latest edition in Cherry Red's Morricone Retrospective. A series that has included such extensive and enthused over titles as "Psichedelico Jazzistico", "Morricone High" and "Morricone In The Brain".

"Just an FYI - the tracks here are really mostly interludes and background music, not even the title theme songs which Morricone wrote for some of the same films from which these tracks are taken. Its not a great listen unless you imagine yourself literally in a film. More of a soundscape than a soundtrack."
