A different but excellent christmas collection

"I played on this album and loved every second of it. (I played in the brass section) I thought the music chosen was very appropriate yet unusual, and Charles Osgood is truly a gentleman; a gracious and genuine person. Jerold Ottley was a fine director of the choir, and he made significant improvements to the balances and the quality of recorded sound over previous recordings (I also played on the "This is Christmas" album which has much poorer balances in and with the orchestra). "Glory" is a wonderful, powerful piece. Even the "American Christmas" piece, while light and a little trite in some ways, comes off very well on the album. However, the men's section of the choir sound pretty stiff on the swinging spiritual portions.I recommend this album, but don't listen to it at low volume. It's more than Christmas Music - it's really fine music, especially the Rutter works. Turn it up and become part of the experience. And listen to the warmth and sincerity of Charles' voice. How rare it is when such gentlemen come along.Thank you Jerry for many years of excellence with the choir. And by the way, the brass section sounds really good. :-)"
Boring and deceiving

"I found this album to be boring and deceiving. I expected a musical CD and found music is the last priority, most of the CD is a narration. I wish I would have known before buying it. Furthermore other reviews were misleading as to the content of the CD."
