Incredible Live Death Metal

"As a two-CD collection for the price of one, EtM is a must-have for any Monstrosity fan. The first disc is a collection of the band's early demos featuring Corpsegrinder on vocals before he left for Cannibal Corpse. The first five tracks sound great, but like most demos, the sound quality on the rest of the tracks is a little rough. Considering the inconsistent sound quality and the fact that all of the tracks appeared on Monstro's first two albums (no lost tracks or hidden gems here), the first disc is mostly just a curiosity to long-time Monstrosity fans.The real value of this collection is in disc two, which is an excellent set of live tracks recorded on a recent tour. The sound quality is excellent, and the band's musicianship is top-notch. They also play live covers of DBC's "Deadlock" and Slayer's "Angel of Death," both of which are killer and worth going out of your way to hear. Overall, this may be some of the best live death metal ever recorded.The live disc truly puts this collection over the top as a must-have for all Monstrosity fans. But if you're just getting into the band, like any collection of demos and live tracks, this probably isn't the place to start. Start with "In Dark Purity" instead and work backwards into their collection. There is no such thing as a bad Monstrosity album."

"This is ones of those CD's I wanted to like but never could make myself no matter how many times I tried. Its does however have George Fischer that is of course now with Cannibal Corpse,not even with him on the vocals can he save this CD. Its very repetitous and sounds a little like malevolent creation. This is death metal at its worst,with hardly any cool riffs and overall nothing that makes it stand out from the pack. I WOULD RECOMMEND (IMMOLATION,DECAPITATED,ARCH ENEMY)FOR TRUELY GREAT DEATH METAL!"
