"This album could have been called simply "Brilliance". As one of the most complete rarities collections, "Volume Contrast Brilliance" is a listening pleasure. Containing both A and B side recordings from many sessions, it is one of the most complete "history of" albums. The Monochrome Set has brought about new standards in Pop music, with upbeat, bouncy sounds and a sarcastic sense of humor in the lyrics. Though not thier most popular songs, these are considered to be some of their best."
The Monochrome set is dead, vive Monochrome set!

"You do'nt like compilations? I do'nt, but this one's particular,in fact this release as good as the others presents singles from 79 to 81(A&B sides), so quiet exactly the same period from their first three albumsBut this compilation's got a soul like the three others. Just one advice, the order of the songs is a real mess, go on Monochrome set's website, there you will find the original dates of release, and make a program to listen the songs like they came out, I assure you that make all the difference between a vulgar compilation and a concept album... Even the singles's version of songs also appiered on official albums are realy different."
