"Starting with the introduction by Symphony Sid...this CD takes off with some incredible cuts by Mongo and his group. This CD is a must-have if your a latin-jazz fan. It manages to hold on to you track through track, ironically without the addition of two standard Mongo tracks (Watermelon Man and Afro Blue). El Toro, My Sound, and the Morning After are classics. !!UN EXITO!!"

"This cd proves that He indeed is one of the greatest if not the
greatest conga drummers ever. The thing I like so much about this
cd is the musicians take the solos so seriously. It is filled with many great solos. The highlight of the cd is the conga solo. It can and has been used as a teaching tool for those who
would like to play congas and play the afro-latin way. Add this
cd to your collection, you won't regret it.
