"Another great performance from Jean-Francois Heisser. As I've said before, he deserves far more recognition as a superb pianist. These pieces by a lesser known composer are therefore appropriate for him to play. The "Cancons i danses" are salon like in style; somewhat similar to the music of Erik Satie. They are lyrical and create a mood which is relaxing and reflective. Mompou is best known for his "Suburbis" which is also played well here. The "Cants Magics" is a bit more moody and again, beautifully played. If you are interested in discovering new solo piano music played brilliantly, this is a CD worth exploring."
