"This CD is a rare treasure. It contains a very good selection of Jewish music from different times and places in Yiddish (primarily), Ladino, and Hebrew, with a few klezmer instrumentals interspersed. Shura Lipovsky has a beautiful and expressive voice, and the instrumentalists are impeccable led by Jeff Warschauer (guitar) and Zalmen Mlotek (piano), with Ilene Stahl (clarinet, of Klezmer Conservatory Band as is Warschauer) and the ubiquitous (on klezmer recordings at least) trombone wizard David Harris in support. Everything from Yiddish drinking song to Ladino love song to Chassidic melody to Mordecai Gebertig. Think klezmer and bel canto don't mix? Listen to this!"
