"As a long time southern rock fan and after seeing Molly Hatchet earlier this year, I was really looking forward to this DVD. Since I prefer to see concerts rather then listen to them, I decided to pop the DVD in first. It was one of the worst concert DVD's I've ever seen. The concert itself is excellent, it's always great to see Dave playing with Hatchet again. However, the audio and video are at least 1/2 a second out of sync with each other which makes the DVD almost unwatchable. It makes it look almost like they are lip synching (which I am sure they arent). I watched through Son of The South and it didnt get any better, so I decided to just pop in the CD. It was the exact opposite. Sound was great, everything was in sync with each other. If you are a die hard Hatchet fan, I would recommend either downloading the cd off itunes or whatever you use for downloads. Or I would buy this, burn the cd, and just sell it because the DVD should not have even been released. If you want some good live Hatchet from the current line up, either get the Live in Hamburg DVD or go see them in concert."
Good show. But out-of-sync 5.1 sound

"Overall a good recorded show with some sound flaws. First, the 5.1 sound on the DVD is out-of-sync by over a second. Which makes the DVD unwatchable in this sound format. The good news is the stereo sound on the DVD is in-sync and is well recorded. I returned the disc and the replacement had the same problem. So the whole production run is probably bad. Second, the show was mastered with canned audience sounds which at first makes it sound energeric but after a while becomes annoying background noise. Also the southern good-ole-boy speeches are laid on a little thick but this is to be expected for this band and its main audience. Overall this is the best live performance I have seen with this version of Hatchet (post Danny Joe Brown). Recommended if you are a Hatchet fan."
MOLLY HATCHET ROCKS!

"Well after watching the video and listening to the CD once each, I am pretty impressed with the "new" Hatchet. I,ve heard some studio stuff from them, but this is the first time I've seen/heard them live. Let me start off by saying that Southern Rock is not my favorite genre of music and I can't stand country music at all. But I do like Southern Rock quite a bit,and of all the southern rockers, Molly Hatchet has always been my favorite band. They are hardest rockin of any southern rock band. And everyone knows they've always had the coolest album art of any southern rock band--period. Being a fan of Metal/hard rock it only makes sense that Hatchet is my favorite southern rockers.
Now, about the dvd/cd. Good things first: The band was in fine form, Phil McCormack is a great (big) frontman, and sounds so much like DJ Brown at times it's scary. Ingram played his *ss off, and their drummer is a metal drummer who just doesn't know it yet. The quality of the video is unsurpassed--crysal clear video--looks great on my plasma. I had no problem whatsoever with the sound either (some have had complaints)I play all my DVD's in stereo 2.0. The set-list was decent as well--although I could always find a few faults with any video. For instance I could do without some of the new stuff from Rainbow Bridge, such as Get in the game and Rainbow bridge, and I would've liked to have seen Bloody Reunion or the Creeper or even some "new" Hatchet songs like Silent Reign of Heroes or One Last Ride, but that's no biggie. The songs that were included were kick-ass.
Now the cons: I hate the truncated versions of great songs--you never hear Free Bird without the jam at the end, why the hell didn't they play the whole version of Fall of the Peacemakers? That's one of the best songs ever from any genre. Which brings me to my next gripe, anyone who didn't know better would think that Dave Hlubek was some back-up rhythm guitarist they found on the way to the show, not one of the formers of Molly Hatchet--the camera hardly ever showed him, nor did he get much lead-time at all (including his own masterpiece Fall of the Peacemakers). They could have made room for him by doing away with Ingrams solo. Yes there was some canned applause added that I could've done without, but at the same time I can understand why they added it, without it it would sound as if there were only seven people at the show! My final gripe is not with the band but with the pitiful audience--come on Kentucky!! Apparently they had already paid for the camera crew for that night--because I can't see any other reason for not just waiting to film the show somewhere else--those people were pitiful. All except for the hotties that got up on stage at the end, they should've let them stay up there. I didn't see ANY booze in the crowd--that could've helped too.
Overall this is a rockin set for a good price, I think I'll enjoy the CD more than the DVD--simply because I'll listen to it more, on the road, working, doing chores around the house. Hope I get a chance to see them live one day--and maybe the hottie mom will show up and dance."

"Great CD and DVD, only thing is the crowd noise add ins dont match the crowd on the dvd. Bobby Ingram kicks a__ in his solo as does Shawn in his drum solo."
