If only all metal sounded like this

"I like early Metallica and Sabbath as much as the next guy, but overall metal don't do it for me. I didn't know what sort of metal Greg Ginn was throwing at us on this album, but it turns out it's not much. What we do get is more abstract jams from the master himself. Ginn's guitar perfectly transitions between accented rhythm and spastic soloing, while the sax man, Tony Atherton, seems to have a license to get buck wild. Which he does. Unlike metal, these tracks have a solid groove that keeps moving while the lead instruments delve into some unheard territory."
