A BEST OF MOE of recent work

"MOE TUCKER's music is FUN. The tracks taken from the album "I SPENT A WEEK THERE THE OTHER NIGHT", are filled with a lot of the energy and twisted wit that one found with the Velvet Underground. Moe had some good help, with Sterling Morrison, Lou Reed, and John Cale individually playing on the tracks that this "BEST OF" took from that album. Next comes the tracks from "DOGS UNDER STRESS". The late great STERLING MORRISON plays on some of these tracks too. But please understand, it isnt her former bandmates that make these albums such infectious fun. It is MOE TUCKER, with her punk esthetic, and honest, down home rock and roll. Curious first timers, might be interested in this CD, altho I personally recommend the two original CDs, if you can find them. This would have been a true BEST OF, had it included some songs from LIFE IN EXILE AFTER ABDICATION, and even PLAYING POSSUM (1981--first album), but Moe's music can be hard to find.
A good CD, for putting your toe in the waters of solo MOE TUCKER music."
