Glad it's a keeper

"Hello. I bought this thinking it may be a collector's item. When I found out, though, I could've bought it used for $1.75, I decided to listen to it. Musically, this is probably the closest you can get to a Velvets album that isn't a Velvet album. Also: Tucker's voice is greatly improved from the days of "I'm Sticking With you". My perception after having listened to this disk is that her voice is exquisitely deadpan. If you buy this, listen to it. But don't expect to become rich.

Don't you love Saturday night?

"Moe's second album on Atlanta's Sky Records picks up where 1991's "I Spent A Week There The Other Night" left off. It's fun, loose, and sounds like the band (members of the Velvets and Violent Femmes)just stopped by for a party. Right from the top with Bo Diddley's "Crackin' Up" this record rocks, with "Crazy Hannah's Ridin' the Train" and "Saturday Night" real stand-outs. There's also a sweetly-sung "Danny Boy," and the acid-tongued putdown of "I've Seen into Your Soul" ("...it wasn't very hard, there's a great big hole") to keep things honest. Moe and her pals should get together for more parties like this."
