"Well, I saw moe. for the fifth time on this weekend and went out and decided to see how the live album was. I'm not too big on albums as I like to listen to live tapings of moe. but I figured I should give this a spin. Its a great selection of songs and it sounds quite good, thanks to the talent of the band's soundman, Steve, and the producer of the album John Siket (who also produced the soon to be released Phish album Farmhouse). My only complaint about this double-live cd is the compression. Its normal for albums that are commercially to released to have the sound compressed, unfortunatly I feel this has 'altered' the way the band sounds live to an extent, which is why I only gave the cd 4/5 stars. In conclusion, I do beleive this is a good cd and do not feel gypped out of my money, but if you haven't seen moe. live for yourself yet, make sure you are there the next time."
FINALLY........live moe. for the world to hear

"Like others, I have been waiting for this CD for some time. moe. is a band like Phish, the Dead, Widespread Panic, Stringcheese Incident etc. ONLY in that they are to be experienced LIVE to get what they are all about (they sound almost NOTHING like the above mentioned bands). This CD is a FANTASTIC representation of their sound and the energy they bring to the stage. You won't believe it until you hear it. The lengthy jams are NOT for the faint hearted, but if you like multi-layered, funky, spacy, funny and increadibly TIGHT jams by fearless musicians, you'll drive your neighbors crazy with this one. It is to be listened to LOUD, and unless you have a great deal of self control, not while driving fast cars! However, it's not a substitute for actually seeing them, but it's a good place to start. Pick it up....and enjoy! P.S. You can pick up the THIRD live disc (unavailable ANYWHERE else) from their web site for about $8+S&H. Also well worth it!"
Second disc makes it 5 star album...

"This is a superb live effort from moe. All the songs are very representative of a good moe. show. The first disc is great, but the second one absolutely rocks to no end, making you wish there was a third disc. The jams are exceptionally well crafted and tight throughout. Even if you've never heard moe. this would be a great starting place. I would even add this 2 disc compilation to the ranks of the best live discs released over the past few years including Dave Matthews Band @ Red Rocks, Widespread Panic "Light Fuse...", and Phish's "Live One." The production and sound quality is pristine, also. All you need to do now is go to your nearest RadioShack(tm), buy all the strobe lights they have in stock, and you'll get a small feel of what a real live moe. show is like."
These guys are an EXCELLENT band!

"I saw Moe when they opened for Robert Plant in Santa Barbara a couple of weeks ago. I had no idea what to expect. They played only 5 songs (typical for a opener), but at the end of their last song, they morphed into an 8 minute jam that just blew the audience away. During this jam, they were "in the zone," as they say. It was really a sight to behold. I promptly read some Amazon.com reviews of their CD's. I chose "L" because reviewers gave it high marks for being a great "jam" CD. Well, folks, I am reborn. This is the best CD I have heard in years. These guys synch like no one else. I am dumbfounded that this band is not HUGE. But, as H.L. Mencken once said, "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people." If you have never heard Moe, you absolutely must. See them in concert if you can, but if that's not possible, just buy this CD. Trust me, Trust me, Trust me...You will not regret it."
A Supreme Live Album

"This essential two disc set of live moe. music captures the feel of this band better than any of their attempts at a studio album. Their music is best suited to being played on the stage, and with this album, the band displays their superb abilities to extend any one of their songs to remarkable length, and with extraordinary levels of power and force. This is not jamband music for the weak. When I see this band perform live, my ears ring for days after; the decibel level is enormous, and the sound effects utilized can be unexpectedly piercing. But somehow the effect of the music on my future hearing is of little consequence to me during the show, since the music is being played so well, and at such an intensity, that I am fully focused on hearing everything that is being sent to me through the amplification devices.
This album captures that live intensity very well, and packages it in a very listenable manner. The song selections are very well representative of the type of music that moe. is capable of producing, making this the quintessential moe. album. For anyone that hasn't heard moe. yet, this would be the album to buy; even though I have a substantial collection of moe. to listen to, it is this album that gets played most frequently."
