One of Vancouver's best bands ever!

"I remember Mary Joe lending me her bass amp for my first gig (Verbal Abuse) at the UBC CITR band contest in 1982. I was extremely grateful (perhaps less so after a Mohawked girl threw a pitcher of beer at me)! The Modernette's were one of the great unrecognized talented bands to come out of Vancouver during one of that city's best alternative scene not just in Canada, but in the world. Alongside DOA, Subhumans, Pointed Sticks, K-tels, and other lesser known bands such as the Yummy Devils, B-sides, and others, the Modernettes set the bar. All of the material from Teen City is classic, during an era that produced a constant barrage of garbage on the radio. We could use some Modernettes today! Buy this CD - you won't regret it!"
