CD Reviews

Romantic German Pop/Disco/Synth from 80's

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is the 1-st album from the Legendary German Composer/Songwriter Dieter Bohlen and the vocalist Thomas Anders and their German Pop/Dance group Modern Talking. I believe it's from 1985. I never get tired of listening to this EuroDisco Classic, it brings up many feeling. All songs here are nothing less than Great. They are Very Romantic and are filled with many Emotions, and 80's Synthesizer arrangements and Techno Beats have that Nightly and Dreamy feel to them. They are also somewhat similar to the New Wave sound, but Not exactly. It's very Beautiful music, that one can Dance to, or just simply listen to; Dieter's songs and Thomas's vocals also have that Melancholy feel to them ;)All songs are very Catchy, with Great Choruses and Great Synths and Beats. Lyrics are somewhat simplistic being about Love, but Not bad at all. While Modern Talking also released some very nice albums in the 90's, their 80's albums are much closer to my Heart. I can't really pick my favorites from this CD, because they are All my Favorites. But songs "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" and "You Can Win If you Want" were Huge hits at that time in Europe and Asia. This is a Breathtaking 80's album that IMO should be a part of any Pop/Dance Collection, especially if you like 80's music or EuroDisco music. This album is as close to Perfection as you can get, and is truly one of the Greatest 80's Dance/Pop albums.I would highly recommend all their 80's albums. Also their 90's albums were very Nice, but for me just not as good. MT released a total of 12 Albums in the 80's and 90's, and a couple of Greatest Hits Collections!!! Also make sure to check out albums by other Legendary German Pop/Dance artists from 80's and 90's that Dieter Bohlen wrote music for and produced, for example CC Catch (a female version of MT) and Blue System (Dieter's own project, where he himself sang in his unique voice). These are all Great. Dieter also wrote some albums for Bonnie Tyler, and for some other artists as well (google it to find out).Thank You and I hope you enjoy this artist and album as much as I have."

"This album is my favourite album of Modern Talking (just from the 80's but from the 90's is Back For Good'). I love this album and also the 4th album `In The Middle Of Nowhere' are the best! `You're My Heart You're My Soul' is like a logo for Modern Talking as it is their biggest hit! (With Brother Louie). The great Ballad of MT has to be `You can Win If You want' as they are talking about a young person is being controlled by their parents and it is their plan to run away from home but MT wants them to reunite with their parents and sort things out. Beside the 2 singles the 3 best tracks is
`Do You Wanna'
`Lucky Guy'
And `Bells Of Paris'. The other track are ok and worth while listening to. Full 5 stars for this Mighty German Disco Band."
