"While the sounds on here vary from synthpop and hi-nrg to 80s street beat, Modern Rocketry has something to offer everyone. Vocals even range from monotone male new wave vocal to a unison, high-pitched "Flirts" style. The only complaint, if it can be called that, is that I want more! This collection includes the entire Modern Rocketry LP and several of their 12" singles, but a few singles have been left off (Right Stuff, Reach for the Stars and Born To Be Wild come to mind), and some of the short versions have been used on here instead of long versions. My favorites on here are the excellent new wave tracks with male vocal: Steppin Stone is the LP version on here, so we could use the 12" version on a volume 2, although if you must have it, you can get it on the new wave compilation "I Love Techno Pop". Also, the great new wave LP track "I'm Gonna Make You Want Me" was 2 minutes longer on the b-side of the Steppin Stone 12", and I would love to have that on CD. Ten Seconds to Midnight is a new wave treasure that was an LP track, so it doesn't have a 12" version, and No More Tears is here in it's extended "Broadway Hotel mix, although there were several alternative mixes on the original 12" that would also be great for a volume 2. "Obscure dance floor 80s outfit, featuring Ken Kessie who would later produce Until December. Great 80s disco if you enjoy Paul Parker, Man Parrish and Frankie Goes To Hollywood."
