""This one's a keeper: Forman starts out in a mellow Jarrett/Metheny vein with the title track, and returns to that feeling at the end with "Waiting for Nina," but the arc of the set rises to a high point in the angular bop lines of "Speedy" and the energetic rhythms of "Ornette." The strengths and facility of his playing are breathtaking." Keyboard Magazine"

"Mitch Forman has been working with all the superlative musicians for a number of years now. Since debut recording "Train of Thought". Mitch has worked with Carla Bley, Wayne Shorter, John McLaughlin and Michael Brecker to name just a few musicians. More people should be aware of this marvelous musician. This recording is evidence of that. Mitch is a helluva pianist. He has the chops but it doesn't run away with him. He has a real way with a ballad. Definitely influenced by Bill Evans with some Brubeck, Herbie Hancock and even a little Oscar Peterson (has a similar linear approach). This is not to say that Mitch doesn't have his own sound because he definitely does. A strong modern player. Here the pieces are all on acoustic piano which with Mitch is a very good thing. The first four pieces are just great. Patience is one of those pieces that conjures images. "Origins" is one of those unforgettable ballads that just stands out. Mitch plays and embellishes and also lets the notes breathe. He employs economy where it's needed and also swings hard when the piece calls for it. The guy has got chops let's face it. Discovering this album/recording was like finding a diamond in a dust bin. I was looking but too many recordings were too similar and then I picked this recording up and... surprise!!!! Something special. I play this one alot."
