"Did you have any "Little Golden Records" -- little yellow plastic six-inch diameter 78rpm records with blue or black labels and silver lettering -- to play when you were a kid? Do you have fond memories of the Sandpipers, Anne Lloyd, Dick Byron, Mike Stewart, Mitch Miller & Orchestra? Remember all the Christmas tunes they sang?
Well, guess what, folks? This CD has 16 of 'em -- all in high fidelity and totally static- and skip-free, exactly how they were meant to be played!!!
Many of these are classic. Of particular interest are "Christmas Is Coming" and "Up On The Housetop" (the latter has long haunted my memory even though it is only 46 seconds long).
I am astounded -- these are the Real Deal (I am a COLLECTOR and a NOSTALGIAST, and have the ORIGINAL RECORDS corresponding to most of these songs) and can personally testify as to the authenticity of these recordings! If you are at all a fan of "Little Golden Records", this CD is worth many times its price, and I can sincerely recommend it to you. Here is the track listing (which for some ungodly reason Amazon has neglected to post):
1. Jingle Bells
2. Deck The Halls
3. Silent Night
4. Joy To The World
5. O Little Town Of Bethlehem
6. The Night Before Christmas
7. When Santa Claus Gets Your Letter
8. It Came Upon The Midnight Clear
9. O Come, All Ye Faithful
10. White Christmas
11. Up On The Housetop
12. Away In A Manger
13. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
14. Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
15. Christmas Is Coming (The Geese Are Getting Fat)
16. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"
