CD ReviewsBig in Japan (and in my room!) J. Taylor | United Kingdom | 05/19/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "This recent No.1 album from top Japanese Diva, Misia, is acompilation of her hits remixed by 1st class DJs from around theworld. (...) CD1: SWEETNESS (Satoshi Tomiie Sweetness 12" mix)/ Holding my heart (Dodge Soul Inside mix)/ Melody (Masters at Work remix)/ Believe (DJ Watarai remix)/ A place in the sun (Shomari remix)/ Loving Season (Martin Lascelles remix)/ Cry (Gomi remix)/ Unforgettable days (Hex Hector's club mix) >> CD2: Sweet pain (Francois K remix)/ The glory day (Malawi Rocks remix)/ Never gonna cry! (Junior Vasquez remix) + cd extra= Unforgettable days Live Edit. I think there's enough here to keep the crowds happy! Stand out mixes for me include the wondrous MAW interpretation of Melody, Satoshi Tomiie's chunky reworking of Sweetness and the uplifting epic Malawi Rocks remix of The Glory Day, but there is a lot of variety with slower, soul mixes on the 1st CD bringing a welcome change from the dance beats. Apart from the slower mixes, all the dance tracks are in their full, epic versions lasting between 8 and 13 minutes long. Of course, all the songs are in Japanese apart from the final track, Not Gonna Cry! but Misia has a wonderful voice that is good to listen to, even if, like me, you have absolutely no idea what she's singing about. The photos on the sleeve make her live concerts look spectacular and she certainly lives up to her Diva image on this release. Although totally pleasant to listen to, I must add that if you're after something a little more harder and contemporary (...), then go with the recent remix releases from Japanese temptress Ayumi Hamasaki, which totally blow the mind, body and soul with an explosion of hard beats, contagious tunes and powerhouse, high -pitched vocals. If Ayumi's too much for you, then choose the softer side of the dancefloor with Misia!"
