"Misery Signals is one of those bands that will leave a mark in the pages of hardcore. Ryan Morgan [guitar] and Kyle Johnson [bass] from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Were members of renowned hardcore outfit 7 Angels 7 Plagues and are now current members in this outstanding modern hardcore act. Of Malice and the Magnum Heart is Misery Signals first major release and god damn its good. This group heavily tours all corners of the world, so you can probably look for them at Warped Tour this year. Devin Townsend, lead singer for Strapping Young Lad shows off his skills as a producer with this album, he also does backing vocals on the track "a Victim, a Target." If you are a fan of 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Poison the Well, or Skycamefalling you probably already know who these guys are, but if you don't, then you should really consider checking this out."
An amazing debut album

"After seeing the video for The Year Summer Ended in June, I was surprised at good it sounded. So anyway I decided to go pick up this cd but I didn't have the highest expectations for it, thinking that it was probably more of the same tired hardcore/metalcore stuff that most bands in those genres keep making today. Boy was I wrong, this is one of those cds where the band knows how to create the perfect balance between the heavy moments and the emotional breakdowns. Every song is great and I especially liked the quieter track Worlds & Dreams. Anyways, go do yourself a favor and get this cd if your into the metalcore/hardcore scene."
Brilliant

"This album is terrific. Every single aspect of it, from the guitar work to the drumming and vocals, is sheer perfection. This band is one of the few new hardcore bands that can cater to many different types of heavy music fans and maintain their musical integrity and musicianship at the same time. The polarity of this album is excellent and well executed; some moments of this album make you want to cry and some parts make you wanna break a few noses. I highly suggest picking up this album if you're a fan of emotional hardcore such as 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Poison the Well, SkyCameFalling etc. Standout tracks include: The Year Summer Ended in June, The Stinging Rain, Worlds and Dreams, and Five Years."
Amazing in every aspect

"this band has so much talent not just in the way they play but the way they write and organize their music. awesome guitar playingwith some brutal breakdowns, and their singer sceam every word with such passion that it can just overwhelm you especially on the eyar summer ended in june, you can tell he isvery passionate about his music and what he is writing about. this band should be so much more popular then they are. they remind me of scars of tomorrow but heavier some pats more melodic in others. the last track on this cd comes completely out of left field but it is so amazing i kinda wish theyd realease a whole album of material like that sometime in the future but then again it might creat a huge backlash but i found it very enjoyable and moving to listen to. amazing record best hardcore cd in a long long time."

"This full length from Misery Signals has lived up to my expectations, but I feel it is way overproduced (like most modern music). The Stinging Rain is a highlight on the CD showcasing the abilities of M.S. to make good ol' melodic hardcore.Five Years and the Day Summer Ended in June are also good tracks to checkout.World's and Dreams has some nifty guitar work and cool sounding synth effects. All in all, I feel like Misery Signals has done a great job exhibiting how much they have grown as a band and musically on this CD.Some of their older stuff is just classic though and always will be.I feel that the 7 Angels 7 Plagues style has definatley come out in some songs on the CD.World's and Dreams is quite reminiscent of Jhazymne's Lullaby or Dandelions. In the end,I highly reccomend this CD for diehard M.S. fans such as I,or even newcomers to the melodic hardcore genre.Misery Signals is definatley at the top of their game."
