CD Reviews

3-1/2 stars -- Not bad but could've been a better collection

"If you don't own any of Mint Condition's albums (but I don't know why you WOULDN'T), then I guess this collection should suit you well. All your favorite songs are on here, like "Breakin' My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)" and "So Fine". There are also two new tracks: "Deep In My Pockets" and "What You Bring to the Party" featuring a rap by someone named Lil' Buddy. But let's face it, those songs aren't the best songs the band has ever done. They really sound like filler, which is something that really doesn't need to be on a hits collection.Another thing that gets me is that most of the songs on here are radio edits. Why can't we have the album versions? Isn't that why we BUY albums? If we wanted the radio versions, we would have listened to the radio! Oh well, there are still memorable songs like "The Never That You'll Never Know" and, of course, "U Send Me Swingin'".When I first looked at the track listing, I was wondering why "If You Love Me" wasn't on here, but then I remembered that that song came out in '99, and this collection was made in '98. But as of '98, Mint Condition had only three albums out, and the fact that they had a hits collection already was a signal that their label, Perspective Records, was folding (which explains why many of the songs on here weren't singles). All in all, this collection is fine, but if you REALLY want to enjoy Mint Condition, your best bet is to pick up their four albums instead.Anthony Rupert"

"With powerful vocals and and excellent instrumentals the members of Mint Condition separate themselves from the ordinary. Pretty Brown Eyes was the first track I heard. But when I got the collection I never got tired of it. A fabulous band with an authentic sound. Being a romantic those songs take me to higher places even if it is alone. I would recommend this album to anyone. I guarantee their addiction to the melodies."

"I have all of there Albums&Miss there Vibe out here.Self-Contained Band is Missing today badly.Mint Condition has some Jams here that just hit period.I dig there Instrumentation&Creativity.Vocals are on time as well.I wish they would get a Fair shake today.it's so tiring with all this Sampling&Looping Junk that goes over today.I hope they will drop a new Album soon because there Vibe is Missed Nowadays.this a tight set."
