CD ReviewsMillie Jackson rules! Denerval Ferraro Jr | São Paulo, BrazilSao Paulo, Brazil | 03/12/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is definitely the best Millie Jackson album ever, together with "Caugh Up". I bought it 20 years ago 'cause I loved the cover picture (I had NEVER listened to Millie's voice back then) and the album was on sale, so I said to mysefl "why not? she seems to be a hell of a singer". Boy, was I rigth! I can never forget the fist time I listened to "I'm In Love Again". My whole conception of soul music changed right there. The same applies to "There You Are" and "Feel Like Makin' Love". They're great songs and Millie's voice sounds superb here. As for the dancing tracks, "A House for Sale" offers the listener a disco tune with surprisingly sad lyrics. I love "I'm Free" and "What Makes The World Go Round" very much too. Anyway, many years later I bought the CD (and it was very difficult to me, 'cause we can't find Millie's albums in Brazil) and nowadays is one of the best albums I have. Top of the list!" Millie J. is Free and She's In Love again this evening.... at0mic0734 | Calgary, AB Canada | 04/06/2003 (3 out of 5 stars) "If Millie Jackson says you can be free and in love...Who am I to argue?..This time the concept is the journey from breaking up (House For Sale) to embracing freedom (I'm Free), meeting someone new (There You Are), and falling in love again (I'm In Love Again) delivered in her raw, impassioned style, which in some instances, is the only thing that lifts up some of the dozy material (Solitary Love Affair, There You Are). Mostly it's all good though... My favorites being "House For Sale", the rockin' soul of "I'm Free", "Feel Like Makin' Love" and the slow burning "I'm In Love Again" (I've never heard anyone "moan happy" like that before)... Produced again by Millie herself and frequent collaborator Brad Shapiro. Not among her very best, essential work or anything, but it's a decent, solid soul album.."
