Synopsis

Album Description
Remember AM Radio? Milkshake Jones Does... They were the days when every song was your favorite and you couldn?t wait to hear what tune the DJ was going to spin next. The Paisley Pop Label and Misguided Efforts Recordings are pleased to present Milkshake Jones, a Harrisburg, Pa.,-based combo that hearkens back to the heyday of the AM band while creating a sound uniquely its own. Who do they sound like? We hate to make comparisons -- but think Squeeze meeting Uncle Tupelo in The Beatles? basement. That?s a good place to start. From the breezy pop of the lead track "Glow," to the rollicking "Miracle Plain," and the alt.country of "Stop Me From Falling" (a collaboration with Windbreakers? songwriter Tim Lee) the band effortlessly straddles styles to create a modern record that evokes the best of classic pop songcraft. In just over a year together, Milkshake Jones has become a regular fixture on stages across Central Pennsylvania. The band has toured North Carolina, sharing the bill with such power-pop stalwarts as The Shazam and Tar Heel legend Mitch Easter. They?ve also made periodic forays into Philadelphia -- most recently as a featured act in the respected International Pop Overthrow Festival. And now, with the release of its debut CD, the rest of the world will find out what a well-chosen elite has known for a while-- this is a combo to be reckoned with. Why not share in the secret? WOULD SOUND GOOD ON A MIX TAPE WITH: The Bats, Uncle Tupelo, Squeeze, The Verlaines, Straitjacket Fits
