"Don't get me wrong: these are great Savoy & Dial sides by Parker bands from the 40s--classic be-bop, along with a couple live tracks from the Royal Roost. But these tunes have appeared in so many compilations already, that it's hard to believe that any bop fan doesn't already have them all.
Further, all but two of these tunes ("Little Willie Leaps" and "Sippin' at Bell's") were recorded with Charlie Parker as the leader, not Miles Davis. This compilation is a decent overview of the '46-'48 period of Bird & Miles, but I'd recommend any of the more thematic collections (i.e., Complete Dial Masters) before this one. Track info & dates:

"The above reviewer nails it but... with 24 bit remastering, ace sequencing, a mid-line price, and lovely packaging you can't beat this comp.The sequencing flows like a classic album, studio and live tracks, ballads and frenzied numbers. This is a beatnik be-bopper, hipster, flipsters dream come true. In fact all of the Savoy timeless series seem pretty choice, a lot of thought seems to have gone into the production from the first post-it note through the end "product". If you get this and the Charlie Parker timeless comp. You will have almost two hours of unbeatable be-bop for a [small price]. I'm tellin' you this be the sh!t!!"
