Good OST, but worth the money?

"I loved Genso Suikoden II and its music... but here I'm staring at the price of this music cd and wondering, 'would I be willing to pay that for the cd?' The answer is, quite honestly, no. My advice would be to look elsewhere for this soundtrack, perhaps even order directly out of japan (or search for the taiwan bootlegs). It is much less expensive that way and probably worth more. Around $ total for the two volumes of the Soundtrack to Genso Suikoden II? ...it doesn't sound practical to me. Reviewing the item itself is a bit difficult, for it's the type of soundtrack that you either like the music or you don't. Considering this is an import and the other fact that Konami editted a bit of the music in the American release some tracks may be unfamiliar. Personally, I would pick up the Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 and Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 2 soundtracks instead of these (which I have). Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 is a bunch of good recycled tracks from Genso Suikoden II. All in all, I wouldn't drop the $ for this cd, but if I could find it for $ I might. :)"

Genso Suikoden 2, The Original Soundtrack - Worth it?

"Suikoden and Suikoden 2 are known well for their high quality sound and storyline, where as they choose to graphically display the game on a very low level. The soundtrack for this game is outstanding, but then this is only seen in the eyes of the many suikoden fans out there who own a playstation. The soundtrack has many "fillers" in it, and these particular tracks will only be appreciated by true lovers of the game itself. My rating itself is made from my best unbiased judgement, even those it may be subject to some bias due to my love of the game. On a wider note, there are some high quality tracks on this soundtrack, whether you love, neglect or hate the game itself. All of the songs on the soundtrack convey a specific emotion. Whether it be sadness, anger or danger, you will know and feel it no doubt. My belief? Genso Suikoden 2 IS worth purchasing, but only for those who have either extensive experience from the game or a great imagination."
