Neglected classic

"The considerable output of Jamaican dj, producer and radio presenter Mikey Dread embraces many different styles. After leaving Jamaica for the UK at the end of the 1970s he became an associate of the Clash, and toured with them as well as appearing on their "Sandanista" album. The Clash's 1980 single "Bankrobber" was backed with a version side by Mikey Dread entitled "Rockers Galore UK Tour"....
"African Anthem" is a somewhat neglected dub set from 1979, although it's as good as any you can buy from that era. It features some radical remixes of his own work by Campbell, King Tubby and Prince Jammy and also includes many of his flamboyant radio jingles, samples of which have been appearing on other people's records for years. Great stuff!"
