"Heard some of this on the radio and ran right out to get it - words fail me. It's the finest album I've heard in years, and defies description. It's thrilling to discover a new favorite! Funny, moving, baffling and gorgeous. Inspired work... wow."

"Sport Murphy is a genius with a staggeringly wide range of musical influences. "Magic Beans" is the sort of CD that demands total concentration. Dim light, a comfortable resting place, phone unplugged to avoid intrusion. And I think it's best listened to in solitude, or with someone who is peacefully sleeping.A long time ago I formulated the Amy Musical Test. It's very simple: if you can hum along with a song the first time you hear it, it is most likely not music that Amy will find very interesting. If I can't hum along on first hearing, I'm forced to listen with both ears wide open. Every song on "Magic Beans" (and "Willoughby" too, for that matter) passes the Amy test."
