"There aren't many directors who can also compose, let alone write music for their own films. The score for this film is a string quartet, chamber pieces which seem appropriate to dramatize the caracters in this artful film set in the 1890's. Figgis' compositions are brilliantly performed by the Medici Quartet and National Quartet, which includes a beautiful solo cello piece performed by Caroline Dale.Mike Figgis and Milan Records have produced a serious yet beautiful soundtrack that stirs your intermost emotions. Once you have experienced this album, you can't stop listening to the haunting and lingering themes of each track. Highly recommend this CD to the preferred listener - very classic and brilliant score!Total Time: 37:29 on 20 Tracks Milan Records - 73138 35903 2 (1999)"
