Amazon.com Spanish crooner Miguel Bosè mixes reflective, aloof, and moody tones in this compilation of old and new material. Bos&eagrave; seems at his best on the meditative "Este Mundo Va" and "Muro," songs that mix meandering melodies while his thickly Castilian-accented vocals inject melancholy sentiment. But he can also unload dance-flavored rock energy like the reggae-flavored "Solo Pienso en Ti" and "Los Chicos No Lloran." Other bright spots include the Elvis Costello-Talking Heads-like dance-pop confection "Bambu," while "Partisano" recalls A Flock of Seagulls without the shrill desperation. The singer-songwriter specialty is anthemic, synthesizer-driven lite rock. The best compositions work fine because they intrigue and engage; the rest amount to warmed-over melodies.
