Fascinating colors, just what I wanted

"I actually stumbled onto Michael Whalen's "Like Rain Through My Hands" recording. I listened to the clips presented here on amazon.com and wound up ordering it. There are a lot of albums that are "new agey" that are tonal color soundscapes. While this album has some of that going on, it's just frankly tasty.
The CD cover is provocative. The soundscapes (I'm not sure how else to describe them) are not always without "form". Some of the cuts are free form without a discernible Western or Eastern musical form to them. Other cuts are more typical of one might expect if new age and smooth jazz got together. It's just hard to describe what this is. It's definitely *not* elevator music.
I can tell you that I like it. I listen to it in the background when I'm working on reports and lab work. My lab has a lot of low level white noise in it and this CD helps me work effectively. I like the colors in the music.
The cuts show musical skill and not just tonal smears of sound transitioning in an interesting way.
I'm going to check out some more Michael Whalen as a result of my excellent experience with Like Rain Through My Hands.
Will you like it? I can't say. I don't know you. See, I know there's a group of enthusiasts who are nuts about the Pontiac Aztek. I don't get it as I think it's about as good looking as the vehicle The Thing (actually, the Thing was better looking I think)or the British car the three wheeled Robin.
I'm happy with my purchase and I've listened to the CD quite a bit in the last month since I've purchased it.
