"First when I heard this CD on the internet, I thought it was a reissue of some older Michael Rose music which I didn't know yet. But surprisingly it was new. The producer on this album, Ryan Moore, did a really good thing. The music takes you really back in to the early days when Rose was the lead singer of Black Uhuru. This is roots music, this is reggae at his best. With a lot of famous players of instruments like Style Scott, Dean fraser, Chinna Smith, Franklin Waul etc. etc. Just real instruments. How can music be so relaxing and still so uplifting!

The voice of Rose is always one of my favourites, but on this album it seems to be that it's more in balance with the music.

Listen to African People, No Burial and Better Mus'Com and you know what I mean. Rose at his best!



I hope that Michael Rose will make more records like this in cooperation with this great producer!
